Camelot

Project Manager of Web Technology Infrastructure, Sept 2002 to Jan 2005

Ed was brought in to get the Infrastructure for the new Camelot Interactive web site into a production ready state, achieving the highest standards of security, documentation, change control and configuration management. His was responsible for a team of 15 technicians covering AIX and Solaris systems, DB2, Websphere and HTTP server, IBM hardware including 690 multiple logical partition machines, network equipment from three Firewall vendors, Content Switches, Attack Mitigators and many support devices, all configured to have no single point of failure.

He re-organised and focused the Infrastructure Team on clearly defined objectives and re-planned the project to achieve demanding delivery dates. Change control and configuration management were gradually and steadily tightened to ensure flexibility in getting things done while ensuring good work was not spoiled by poor controls. Exacting security standards were met in all sections of Networking Operating System, Database and Application Deployment.

After successful launch, Ed moved on to implement significant expansion of Test and Development environments and launch of Interactive TV and SMS sales channels, then EPOS integration with Tesco.
