Flight Data Files

OK, so here is the boring bit.

Please use these files as you wish, but you do so at your own risk, be it loss of points or loss trespass into restricted airspace, which ever you deem more important.

Technically the only valid air navigation information comes from the CAA via the UK AIP, NOTAM and current air maps, so to mirror the lovely wording in the Turnpoint Exchange:

  • This information may not be accurate or current and is not valid for navigation or flight planning. No warranty of fitness for any purpose is made or implied. Always consult the official publications for current and correct information. This service is provided free of charge with no warrantees, expressed or implied.

Turn Points

These are the files I fly with in Winpilot. They all originate from BGA Waypoint Coordinator, Ian Strachan Via Tim Newport-Peace but are simply formatted the way I like them to be:

  • Number order = alphabetical order
  • TP Name is the Trigraph
  • Airfields and Start/Finish points appropriately identified
  • Zoom levels set for Airfields to disappear last (though there seems a current bug in Winpilot for this feature

Airspace

The latest Open Air format airspace files are courtesy of Croft Brown version 2012d but with a couple of minor tweaks:

  • I have modified the colours to my personal preferences
  • The Compton Box is implemented- normally it will warn, but if available you can then disable just the allowed bit
